VOLUNTEER ROLES | COMPLIANCE ESSENTIAL (WWCC & Police Clearance Certificate)
1. THANKYOU EVENT SETUP | 7:30am - 12pm | SURSURFISH CAFE, BONDI BEACH
Help set up the thank you event for all of our Canteen runners and supporters.
- Current WWCC (paid or volunteer) essential
- Event setup - tables, chairs, gift packs, food & refreshments for runners.
- Moderate lifting is required.
2. PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHER | 7:30AM-1PM | RUSHCUTTERS BAY AREA
Capture the essence of the day and our Canteen runners and supporters in action.
- Current WWCC (paid or volunteer) - essential
- Police Clearance Certificate - essential (provided by Canteen)
- Able to share examples of your work.
- Have your own camera setup
- Canteen has rights to all images taken.
- You will be provided a full briefing and content plan prior to the event.
3. SOCIAL MEDIA ASSISTANT | 8AM - 2PM | SURFISH CAFE - BONDI BEACH
Support our Social Media Coordinator in capturing content of the day
- Current WWCC (paid or volunteer) essential
- Police Clearance Certificate - essential (provided by Canteen)
- Help with participant & guests media consent forms
- Photo Booth setup and assist with printing photos from Insta
- You will be given a full briefing on the day
4. PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHER | 8AM-2PM | FINISH LINE - BONDI BEACH
Capture our Canteen runners and supporters crossing the finish line!
- Current WWCC (paid or volunteer) - essential
- Police Clearance Certificate - essential (provided by Canteen)
- Able to share examples of your work.
- Have your own camera setup
- Canteen has all rights to images taken. Used for promotional material, social media content, website and fundraising pages. Photographer to be tagged when appropriate and able.
- You will be provided a full briefing and content plan prior to the event.
VOLUNTEER ROLES | COMPLIANCE DESIRABLE (WWCC)
5. CHEER SQUAD | 7:30AM - 12PM | EDGECLIFFE STATION
Cheer on our runners as they make their way through the suburbs.
- You will be provided with Canteen-branded signs and streamers.
- Pin drop of the exact meeting location will be provided before the event.
- Capture video and photos of you and your group cheering.
- Current WWCC (paid or volunteer) is desirable but not essential.
6. FINISH LINE USHERS | 7.30AM - 1PM | FINISH LINE - BONDI BEACH
Help guide our Canteen runners to the Thank You Event
- Directions to the bathrooms, medical tent, water stations etc
- Must be able to cope in BIG crowds, be loud and enthusiastic
WWCC (paid or volunteer) is desirable but not essential
PROVIDED BY CANTEEN
- Canteen t-shirt
- Canteen Bandanna
- Snacks and refreshments
- Volunteer Lanyard & course map
- Cheer Squad Volunteers: posters, streamers, pom poms, decorations, coloured zinc etc
- Will be added to the Canteen City2Surf What's App group for communication updates
VOLUNTEER TO BRING
- Appropriate shoes (long periods of standing)
- Water Bottle (for all the cheering!) There are H2O refill stations located around the course.
- Sun protection (hat, sunglasses & sunscreen)
- Small backpack that you can keep on your person.
- Fully charged mobile phone (in case Canteen staff need to get hold of you or there is an emergency).
