Yamma, my name is Rhiannon Fish. I’m a proud Kamilaroi woman from Gunnedah. I was born on Wiradjuri land in Bathurst and I currently live and work on Awabakal land in Newcastle.
I’m studying a Master’s degree in Creative Industries and completing a Cert III in Early Childhood Education and a Cert III in Community Services. I’m really passionate about yarning, creating safe and supportive spaces, and connecting with young people in a genuine and culturally respectful way. Looking ahead, I hope to support Aboriginal young people, particularly through the juvenile justice system, by giving back to community and helping create strong, positive pathways forward.
“Advocating for Aboriginal young people means listening first, standing beside them, and helping create pathways where culture, identity, and opportunity are respected and protected.”
